JEROME WILLIAMS

Jerome Williams, a 1999 Waipahu High graduate, pitched six strong innings in his debut with the Iowa Cubs last night in Des Moines, Iowa.

The right-hander allowed two runs on eight hits with no walks and four strikeouts in a no-decision of a 9-2 loss to the Oklahoma Redhawks. Williams left the game when it was still tied at 2. Joe Dawley, the reliever who followed Williams, was tagged for six runs in two innings.

Williams was traded Saturday with David Aardsma from the San Francisco Giants to the Chicago Cubs for LaTroy Hawkins.
