FESTIVAL: June 10-12

The 26th annual Pan-Pacific Festival — Matsuri once again celebrates the relationship between Hawai'i and the Pan-Pacific region. Highlights include a ho'olaule'a from 6:40-10 p.m. June 10 on Kalakaua Avenue; the 4th annual Pan-Pacific Hula Festival, from noon to 2:30 p.m. June 11 at Ala Moana's Centerstage; and the finale, a colorful parade from Fort DeRussy to Kapi'olani Park from 5 p.m. June 12. FESTIVAL: June 10-25

The 89th annual King Kamehameha floral parade is a grand highlight of the tribute to the king who united the Hawaiian Islands. The June 11 parade begins at 9:30 a.m. at King and Richards streets downtown and journeys along Punchbowl, to Ala Moana and Kalakaua and ends at Kapi'olani Park. Other highlights include the statue decoration at Ali'iolani Hale downtown, from 4 p.m. June 10; Na Hana No'eau o Ka Pakipika, a festival of arts and crafts, food, cultural demonstrations and entertainment, from 10 a.m. June 11; and the 32nd annual King Kamehameha Hula Competition, from 6 p.m. June 24 and 1 p.m. June 25 at the Blaisdell Center Arena. "Keepers of the Treasures" is the theme of this year's Kamehameha celebrations.

BENEFIT: June 12

People and pets unite for PetWalk 2005. The Hawaiian Humane Society and HMSA team up to encourage the community to get active and raise money for a good cause. Currently in its 15th year, this charity walk consists of a 2-mile course through Magic Island and Ala Moana Park, or a 1-mile course for smaller dogs. The day of fun includes a pet costume contest, pet games, entertainment and refreshments for all. Organizers are also looking for pets that can perform tricks (such as skateboarding dogs, talking parrots) to be part of the pet walk. Petwalk registration starts at 7 a.m. Donations welcome.

STAGE: June 13-15

Kumu Kahua Theatre teams up with the Hawaii United Okinawa Association to present benefit performances of "Aloha Las Vegas." The theater revives its popular comedy, written by Edward Sakamoto and directed by Harry Wong III, about a local family considering a move to Hawai'i's "ninth island." Admission is $16 general, $13 groups of 10 or more and $10 youths. ("Aloha" also will be performed at UH-Hilo June 17-18; and at Kumu Kahua's downtown theater June 22-26.)

CONCERT: June 15

With summer just around the corner, it's time to ship off to camp ... Band Camp, that is. Star 101.9 presents Band Camp 2005, a hot concert featuring local and Mainland artists including Pepper (below), Mad Caddies, Senses Fail and Go Jimmy Go. Doors open at 7 p.m. for this 21-and-older party. Tickets are $25 advance and $30 at the door.

Let the friendly neighbors of Sesame Street sweep those clouds away for a rainbow of fun at "Elmo's Coloring Book." Elmo, Zoe, Oscar, Big Bird and the rest of the gang come and play during a vibrantly energetic Sesame Street Live show exploring the world of colors. Tickets are $11 and $15, with some $19 premium seats available. On opening night, all seats are $11.

Enjoy the balmy weather of summer as the Bishop Museum launches its 2005 Moonlight Mele on the Lawn concert series. The three-concert series kicks off with Na Hoku Hanohano award winners Maunalua. Upcoming feature artists include Ho'okena with Da Braddahs and the Makaha Sons. Tickets are $15 general, $10 Bishop Museum members and Bank of Hawaii customers and employees, and $5 children 4-12.

CONCERT: June 26

It's an explosive night of feel-good music at the '70s Soul Jam, hosted by Jimmy "JJ Dy-No-Mite!" Walker. The sexy grooves of golden bands The Stylistics, Heatwave, The Delphonics, Peaches and Herb and The Persuaders will make you feel brand new as you shimmy your way across two dance floors. Tickets: $35 and $45.

CONCERT: June 28

The Waikiki Aquarium's Ke Kani O Ke Kai summer concert series kicks off with Na Palapalai, left, and Sonny Ching's hula halau. Subsequent headliners include Hapa, Na Leo Pilimehana, The Beamers and IONA Contemporary Dance Theatre. Each concert is $18 general, $10 ages 7-12 and free for those 6 and younger; $15 and $7 for Friends of Waikiki Aquarium members. FOWA members may also pay $60 for all five concerts. Doors open at 6 p.m.

CONCERT: July 3

The Hawaii Performing Arts Festival celebrates classical music and the Big Island's Waimea community with a series of concerts, including the American Music Gala. The festival brass performs at the resort's Hale Hoaloha outdoor pavilion while the festival wind ensemble can be enjoyed in the hotel atrium. The programs include traditional works and contemporary compositions. Admission is free.

CONCERT: July 6-Aug. 10

Get ready for a magical musical menagerie as Starbucks revives the summer concert series Wildest Show in Town. Every Wednesday from July 6 to Aug. 10, the Honolulu Zoo comes alive after hours with local performers taking to the lawn stage. Noel Okimoto and Friends kick off the series, with subsequent entertainers including Kapena, Maunalua, Daniel Ho and Roy Sakuma's 'Ukulele Super Keiki, Frank DeLima and Rocky Brown. Admission is $2; doors open at 4:35 p.m.

FESTIVAL: June 24-26

The state's biggest foodie event is back for its 14th year of edibles, wine and entertainment on the grounds near City Hall. The Taste of Honolulu, a benefit for Easter Seals Hawai'i, features sample portions (purchased by scrip) from restaurants including Brew Moon, Ciao Mein, Marbella, Shanghai Bistro and 21 Degrees North. Admission is $3 general, free for seniors and kids under 12.

FAIR: June 24-26

The second annual Hawaii 4-H Farm Fair gets under way for an educational and entertaining experience for all. The festivities include a livestock show, auction, 4-H fashion and cooking displays, keiki games, farmer's market, bouncers, crafts, agricultural products, eating contests and entertainment. Admission is free. (This fair is separate from the State Farm Fair, which is scheduled for July 29-31 and Aug. 5-7 in Kapolei.)

Wrestling delay

A World Wrestling Entertainment "Raw Live" event that had been scheduled for early July at the Blaisdell Arena has now been pushed back to Oct. 15.

50th State Fair update

Marques Houston of IMX, who had been scheduled to perform at the 50th State Fair June 12 has been canceled.

Jazz and more

David Benoit, Paul Brown, Michael Paulo and Pauline Wilson are among the jazz force participating in "The Great Waikoloa Food, Wine & Music Festival," set for 6 p.m. June 25 as part of the Dolphin Summer Fest at the Hilton Waikoloa Village on the Big Island.
