Reward offered in Waikele death

The family of a man who was found beaten to death in Waikele on March 21 is offering a reward for any information that leads to the arrest of the person or people responsible for his death.
Owen Hamada, 54, was found dead in the women's restroom at a park on Lumiaina Street in Waikele. Police said Hamada was homeless and occasionally slept in the park.
A family spokeswoman said the amount of the reward has not been determined.

Christopher K. Lee, 22, was last seen leaving his home on Kahanu Street about 2 p.m. yesterday. When relatives went to his home later in the day, they found evidence that Lee had injured himself, said Missing Persons Detective Phil Camero.
Lee was driving a white 1994 Oldsmobile two-door sedan, license plate FWA 671.
He is 5 feet 11 and 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

Family members told police they last saw Ryan Sturgis, 19, just before he went to visit a relative in Hana Kulana Camp at 'O'okala in the North Hilo District.
Sturgis, who lives in Kapehu Camp, never returned home following the visit, his family said. They said they are concerned because Sturgis has a medical problem that may require treatment.
Hawai'i County Police Detective Richard Sherlock received a tip that Sturgis was seen in a recent newscast about an O'ahu-based nonprofit organization that helps troubled youths.
Although that lead did not pan out, Sherlock is interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen Sturgis. He is 6 feet 2 or 6 feet 3 and weighs about 280 to 290 pounds.

A 58-year-old Saint Louis Heights man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in connection with a sex-assault case involving a 30-year-old man.
The younger man told police that the older man, who is an acquaintance, sexually assaulted him about 5 a.m. on May 21.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of three counts of second-degree sexual assault.
A 21-year-old Wai'anae man was arrested yesterday for suspicion of multiple felony offenses after he allegedly broke into his former girlfriend's home Wednesday night and demanded to see his infant son.
Police said the man first forced his way into the ex-girlfriend's home about 9 p.m. Wednesday, saying he wanted to see the baby. A struggle ensued and police were called, but the intruder left before officers arrived.
The former boyfriend, who is the subject of a restraining order obtained by the 17-year-old, returned after police left the area and broke a window to enter the home a second time. He pulled a knife and threatened to harm his former girlfriend unless she agreed to let him see their son, police said.
Police were called back and arrested him about 1:30 a.m.
The woman received cuts on her arms and legs and a small puncture wound to her face..
