The Pahala Public & School Library will host "Na Wahi Pana o Ka'u" (The Celebrated Places of Ka'u), an oral history project by Ka'u High students, on Monday at 6 p.m. Admission is free.
Sponsored by the Hawai'i Council for the Humanities, the project was conducted by second-year students of kumu Maile Moulds-Carr. Dr. Charles Langlas of the University of Hawai'i-Hilo Anthropology Department was the project adviser.
The program will feature the showing of a DVD, which includes interviews with 10 kupuna from Ka'u. A question-and-answer session will follow. Copies of the students' book, "Na Wahi Pana o Ka'u," will be available for purchase from the Ka'u High administration office.
