Bulls win 4th MISO title in row

The Honolulu Bulls defeated HPU White, 3-2, on penalty kicks Friday night in the final of the Men's Island Soccer Organization Open to capture their fourth consecutive Robledo Cup at Ala Wai Park.

The teams took a 2-all tie into overtime, with Akihide Adachi scoring both goals for HPU. Neither team scored in the two 10-minute extra periods and the match went into penalty kicks.

Bulls' goalkeeper Stephan Fung stopped the seventh attempt by HPU to clinch the win.

Kenji Treschuk and Satoshi Mitsuda scored goals for the Bulls in regulation. The match was tied 1-1 at halftime.



BOXING

Kawano selected to coach at USA camp

Bruce Kawano, chairman of Hawai'i Junior Olympics Boxing, has been selected as one of the coaches at the USA Boxing Development Camp, July 17 to 27 at Northern Michigan University.

Kawano, a former professional boxer, has been coaching since 1994. A three-time Golden Gloves champion, Kawano coaches out of Evolution Boxing Club in Pearl City.

The camp is designed to prepare boxers for international competition through individualized instruction from top coaches throughout the country.



GOLF

Westfield Jr. PGA deadline tomorrow

The deadline for entry in the Westfield Junior PGA Aloha Championship, June 16 and 17 at the Turtle Bay Resort's Fazio Course, is tomorrow.

There are three divisions (12-under, 13-15, 16-17) for boys and girls. Winners in the latter two divisions will represent the Aloha Section at the Westfield Junior PGA Championship, July 13 to 16 at Westfield Group Country Club in Ohio.
