Streets closed as police raid ice lab in Makiki

Advertiser Staff

Police today raided a storage area near the Makiki Post Office for materials used to manufacture crystal methamphetamine, forcing the closure of several streets including the ramp leading from Pi'ikoi Street to the eastbound lanes of the H-1 Freeway.

The Honolulu Fire Department's hazardous materials unit assisted police Narcotics/Vice officers in the operation, which began at 2:01 p.m.

Other streets that are affected are Ke'eaumoku Street where it intersects with Lunalilo Street and a stretch of Pi'ikoi Street between Kinau and Lunalilo streets. In addition, police have closed Matlock Street between Ke'eaumoku and Pi'ikoi.
