Wie shoots 71, trails Sorenstam by five

Michelle Wie shot a second-round 1-under-par 71 today and was five strokes behind leader Annika Sorenstam at the McDonald's LPGA Championship.

Sorenstam shot the day's low round — 67 — for a two-round 135 and a two-shot lead over Laura Davies (70).

Wie, a 15-year-old Punahou School student and the only amateur in the field, had two birdies and a bogey over the 6,488-yard Bulle Rock Golf Course in Havre de Grace, Md.

Wie's two-round total is 4-under 140 and is tied for ninth with Nicole Perrot (68).

Natalie Gulbis shot a 71 today and is at 138. Five golfers are at 139.
