Tanoue wins World Cup rifle title

Ryan Tanoue, a 2001 Saint Louis School graduate, won the 10-meter air rifle event at the Shooting World Cup in Munich, Germany, yesterday.
Tanoue, 22, scored 699.5 points to beat Romania's Alin George Moldoveanu.
The victory gives the United States a berth in the event at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

AYSO honors Hawai'i
Hawai'i won the American Youth Soccer Organization's Section of the Year award for the second time in three years.
The Rick Davis Cup, named after the AYSO Director of Programs who is a member of the AYSO and National Soccer halls of fame, was also awarded to Hawai'i in 2003.
Section Seven (Hawai'i) director Mark Stewart was also named to AYSO's Board of Directors at the national general meeting at the Hilton Waikoloa Village last month.
AYSO is still accepting registration for the fall season, which begins in August. The organization's hotline is 247-1422.

Scott, partner lose final
Punahou School and University of Hawai'i alum Sean Scott and partner Todd Rogers lost to Matt Fuerbringer and Casey Jennings yesterday in the final of the AVP Nissan Series San Diego Open
Fuerbringer and Jennings won their first title of the season by the scores of 21-16, 21-13.
Olympic gold medalists Misty May and Kerri Walsh won their eighth consecutive women's tournament, beating Brazilians Samirames Marins and Tatiana Minello, 23-21, 21-19.
BASKETBALL
League seeking players
The annual NCAA College Summer Basketball League, which will tip off June 23, is looking for current collegiate players interested in participating.
Games will be played Thursday and Saturday nights at Manoa Recreational Center.
