Motorist's threats lead to arrest

A 24-year-old Salt Lake man was arrested near the Stadium Mall in Halawa last night after he allegedly threatened to crash his car with the intentions of killing himself, his 20-year-old girlfriend and the couple's 4-month-old daughter.

Police said the man was arguing with his girlfriend about 8 p.m. when he began to drive erratically and threatened to kill everyone in the car.

Police said he initially refused orders to pull his car over but was stopped at the intersection of Kahuapa'ani Street and Mananai Place where he was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.



Domestic violence reported

A 30-year-old Kane'ohe man was arrested yesterday after allegedly throwing his 27-year-old girlfriend down a flight of stairs.

The woman suffered a broken arm, police said.

The boyfriend turned himself in later at the Pearl City police station and was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and for an unrelated contempt-of-court warrant.



Robbery reported

A 38-year-old maintenance man told police he was robbed yesterday morning while working behind a housing complex in 'Ewa Beach.

The victim told police he was approached by a man about 7:35 a.m. who had earlier backed into a garbage bin that the maintenance man had positioned on the side of the roadway where he was working.

The maintenance worker said the suspect approached him, started an argument and demanded that he hand over his jewelry.

The victim told police he refused to comply and tried to run away, but the suspect followed him to the rear of the housing area, caught up with him, took his jewelry and assaulted him.

Police found the assailant and arrested him on suspicion of second-degree robbery.



Woman allegedly slashes boyfriend

A 33-year-old woman was arrested early yesterday morning at Waimanalo Beach park after she allegedly slashed her boyfriend, 38, across his left forearm with a large knife.

Police said the pair had been arguing at their campsite about 2:45 a.m. when the incident occurred. Police were called to the park and arrested the girlfriend on suspicion of second-degree assault. The boyfriend ran from the park, but showed up about 6:45 a.m. at the Castle Medical Center emergency room where he was treated and released, police said.
