BUSINESS BRIEFS
Dialysis deal at St. Francis

Advertiser Staff

St. Francis Healthcare System said it will sell a majority interest in its outpatient renal dialysis program to a partnership between Liberty Dialysis LLC and a local physician group. St. Francis said it would work with Liberty to ensure a smooth transition for employees and patients.

The announcement follows last week's disclosure that St. Francis is selling its two hospitals on O'ahu to a group led by Filipino-American doctors.

Liberty Dialysis, based in Mercer Island, Wash., and its affiliates operate 14 dialysis clinics and are completing the construction of eight others in 10 states. The local physician group is led by Dr. Eugene Wong, president of the medical staff of St. Francis.
