Tonight's Must-See

Tonight on KHNL News 8

Feel like seeing a movie this weekend but don't know which flick to catch? Tune in tonight to KHNL News 8 first at 5 as we preview this week's new movie releases. We'll have that story plus your latest news, sports and weather tonight on KHNL News 8.

"Clueless" (1995), 9 p.m., USA Network. On a weak night overall, it might be fun to revisit this lightweight delight. Amy Heckerling from the Bronx became a Hollywood filmmaker known for "Fast Times at Ridgemont High" and "Look Who's Talking." She was stunned by the amount of personal maintenance that seemed to go into the lives of California girls. So she satirized that with this film about teens who know nothing or everything. She even borrowed Jane Austen's "Emma" for the plot. Alicia Silverstone is excellent as the good-hearted but clueless centerpiece. The fine young supporting cast includes Brittany Murphy, Breckin Meyer, Stacey Dash, Donald Faison, Jeremy Sisto and Elise Donovan.

Of Note

"NBA Finals," 3 p.m., ABC, with preview at 8:31. It's the fourth game of the best-of-seven series with the San Antonio Spurs and the Detroit Pistons.

"Pay It Forward" (2000), 6 and 8:30 p.m., TNT. Oscar-winners Kevin Spacey and Helen Hunt combine in this feel-good story. Haley Joel Osment plays a kid who's inspired by his teacher's assignment to do something good.

"The O.C.," 7 and 8 p.m., Fox. Both reruns show Ryan's fondness for Lindsay. In the first, he's mad at Marissa for getting her drunk. In the second, he tries to reunite her with Caleb who apparently is her biological father.

"Hit Me Baby One More Time," 8 p.m., NBC. This wraps up the three-week trial run for the series, which has succeeded in England. It brings back acts that had one or two hits. They do the old song, plus a contemporary one. Tonight viewers see Wang Chung and Irene Cara, among others.

"ER," 9 p.m., NBC. Abby returns, still shaky after last week's abduction. Meanwhile, the interns are supposed to learn to improve their compassion. Neela breaks some news so poorly that a grandmother collapses.

"Without a Trace," 9 p.m., CBS. Jack (Anthony LaPaglia) faces problems, including his custody fight and an office-party visit by his father (Martin Landau).
