Ashford-Pang, Fujii-Lo win national tennis titles

Sue Ashford and Jane Pang defeated Lurline Fujii and Roberta Sung, 6-2, 5-7, 10-8, in an all-Hawai'i final to win the women's 60 doubles championship at the Summer National Senior Games in Pittsburgh on June 12.

Fujii teamed with Patrick Lo in the mixed doubles 60 division to win the championship.

Junior qualifiers

Eight golfers earned berths to the PowerBilt National Jr. Golf Tour yesterday in a Hawai'i qualifier at the Pearl Country Club.

Chan Kim shot a 1-under-par 71 to lead the boys' 16-19 division, with Tadd Fujikawa (73) earning the second berth after winning a three-way playoff.

Ayaka Kaneko shot a 7-over 79 to top the girls' 16-19 division, with Kelcie Ann Kawano (83) earning the second berth.

Taeksoo Kyong beat David Fink in a scorecard playoff in the boys' 11-15 division after both shot 75. They both earned berths.

Kelli Oride shot a 79 and Ashlee Nagamine an 84 to lead qualifying in the girls' 11-15 division.
