Hawaii Pacific Health launches electronic records sharing

Hawaii Pacific Health has begun implementing an electronic medical records system that will allow the sharing of patient information among doctors at its health network of four hospitals and 20 ambulatory care clinics on O'ahu and Kaua'i.

The new integrated patient record system includes state-of-the art patient safety systems to reduce medical errors, the organization said. Physicians will have a comprehensive view of both inpatient and outpatient data that starts with an office visit, an emergency room visit or hospital admission.

On O'ahu, Hawaii Pacific Health runs Kapi'olani Medical Center for Women & Children, Kapi'olani Medical Center at Pali Momi, Kapi'olani Women's Center, and Straub Clinic & Hospital. On Kaua'i, its facilities include Wilcox Memorial Hospital and Kaua'i Medical Center.
