POLICE BEAT
Woman accused in stabbing

Advertiser Staff

A 22-year-old Hau'ula woman was arrested about 10 a.m. yesterday after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the hand as he was trying to enter the couple's home.

The man who was stabbed told police that he had been arguing with his girlfriend when he decided to walk away from the disagreement and take their 1-year-old child with him.

The man, 26, said his girlfriend followed for a while before catching up to him and the baby, and began to slap his head before returning home.

The boyfriend said he went back home to retrieve his belongings only to find that he was locked out. He said he took off a window screen and removed several louvers so he could reach inside to open the door. But when he stuck his right hand in through the opening, his girlfriend stabbed him twice, the man said.

The boyfriend called police who arrested the woman on suspicion of second-degree assault. The baby was turned over to workers from the state child welfare agency.
