The Hawaii International Film Festival continues to celebrate its 25th anniversary with HIFF Summer Saturday at the Hawai'i Theatre. Three films are scheduled this Saturday:

  • "The Beat That My Heart Skipped," from France, is a drama about a young man torn between a life of crime and classical music. The film was well-received at its North American debut at the Tribeca Film Festival. 12:30 p.m.
  • "Mughal-e-Azam," considered Bollywood's "Gone With the Wind," is the epic love story of a 16th-century prince and a courtesan. The film was released 45 years ago but has been restored and colorized. 3:30 p.m.
  • "Marathon," a box-office hit in its South Korea homeland, is the tale of a 20-year-old autistic man who loves to run and his marathon coach, whose best days are far behind him. It's based on a true story. 7:30 p.m.

Attendees are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes before each screening. Tickets are $9 general, $8 military, $7 HIFF 'Ohana members, seniors and students; or $20 for all three films. They are available at the box office. 528-0506, hawaiitheatre.com, hiff.org.

HIFF's big fall festival is scheduled for Oct. 20-30.
