Tonight's Must-See

Tonight on KHNL News 8

News 8's Lyle Galdeira continues the "Lucky You Live Hawai'i" series. Each week, the series profiles a different community and some of the things that make it a great place to live. That's tonight on KHNL News 8.

"Into the West," 5 and 7 p.m., TNT; reruns Saturday and Sunday. Amid the swirl of the California gold rush, we witness the end of Jacob Wheeler's compelling story. His family's saga will continue for three more weeks. Jacob (played by Matthew Settle until the older years), went west and married a Lakota woman. They had three children, then returned to his Virginia home. On a trip west, Jacob was left for dead, but saved by Indian medicine. It took him years to find his wife. By then, she thought she was a widow and had married his brother. Without introducing himself, Jacob gave a necklace to his son and left. Tonight, his daughter searches for him. Meanwhile, gold consumes others. And his Kansas relatives are enmeshed in violent slavery disputes. There are tragedies tonight but enough joy to keep us going.

Of Note

"JAG," 7 and 8 p.m., CBS. In the first rerun, a weapons researcher has disappeared. In the second, soldiers are accused of abuse at a detention center.

"The One" (2001), 7 p.m., Fox. Wouldn't it be terrible if a mean guy kept stomping through all the parallel universes, killing his alter egos? That's what happens in this movie, which stars Jet Li.

"Hope & Faith," 7:30 and 8 p.m., ABC. In the first rerun, Carol Kane plays a neighbor; in the second, the sisters have a fashion fight.

"Naturally, Sadie" debut, 8 and 9 p.m., Disney Channel. Here's a fresh attempt to match the appeal of "Lizzie McGuire" or "Clarissa Explains It All," warm-hearted shows in which a bright teen sometimes spoke directly to the camera.

"Russell Simmons Presents Def Poetry," 8:30 p.m., HBO. Soul singer Smokey Robinson takes the stage in this episode, which features amateur and professional poets reciting their work.

"Numb3rs," 9 p.m., CBS. In this rerun, a little girl is kidnapped after her birthday party.

"Law & Order: Trial by Jury," 9 p.m., NBC. A bank employee casually shoots a customer to death, then convincingly defends himself in court, arguing that he was under emotional stress.
