BUSINESS BRIEFS
Southwest expands codeshare with ATA

Advertiser Staff

ATA Airlines said today it will add Las Vegas to its code-sharing agreement with Southwest Airlines for travel to Hawai'i. Southwest began booking customers on ATA flights to Hawai'i in February. At that time the connection to Hawai'i was through Chicago's Midway Airport. Later flights from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport to Hawai'i were added.

Las Vegas is the third city served by the code-sharing agreement. Flights will begin Aug. 4. On May 14, ATA said it had passed the 100,000 passengers mark with Southwest on the 100th day of the code-sharing agreement.

Clapoff to head Halekulani

Janis Clapoff, former managing partner of the Simpson House Inn in Santa Barbara, Calif., has been named general manager of the Halekulani hotel.

Clapoff joins Halekulani Aug. 1 and will succeed Fred Honda, who is retiring from the general manager post he has held at the 455-room property since 2000.

Clapoff has worked nearly three decades in hospitality management. Her career includes serving as managing director of the San Ysidro Ranch, hotel manager of the Four Seasons Santa Barbara, vice president and general manager at the Topnotch Resort and Spa in Stowe, Vt., and general manager for the Sheraton Park Avenue.
