HAPPENING

Tonight, Cinema Paradise is all about death wishes, junior high pals, kinky sexual desires and fitness centers. "Serious Fitness" (6 p.m.) follows a teenage girl wishing to live the better lives she sees in a gym. "Sund@y Seoul" (6:30 p.m.) takes on the desperate sex lives of a handful of the city's residents. In "Blue" (8 p.m.), a married couple get a less-than-welcome visit from a childhood pal. And "Shinju Elegy" (8:30 p.m.) asks: Whom would you choose to make a death pact with? Ten bucks gets you into Next Door (43 N. Hotel St.) for all the angst. Info: www.cinemaparadise.org.

SAFE GRILLIN'

Some cues for the barbie

There's no better time to grill outdoors than summer. But there are dangers. Some tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

• Refrigerate marinating food. Don't reuse sauce used to marinate raw meat unless it can be boiled first.

• Preheat coals for 20 to 30 minutes, or till they are lightly coated with ash.

• A meat thermometer can ensure safe eating. Hamburgers should be cooked to 160 degrees; poultry parts to 170 degrees.
