ON THE SCENE
If you haven't been to 12th Ave. Grill lately, here's the latest: They've got a liquor license and began serving wine last week. Chef-owner Kevin Hanney, left, said he worked hard to keep the wine list affordable to match the casual neighborhood ambience he has cultivated; most bottles are $19 to $30. The restaurant stopped serving lunch some time ago, by the way; Hanney's busy with catering then. The best news: The restaurant now takes reservations: 732-9469.
Wes Zane has taken over Formaggio, the wine bar formerly associated with Fujioka's Wine Merchants at Market City Shopping. He's offering live, light jazz music and serving "casual gourmet fare" including yummy pizza, short ribs and other dishes heartier than those offered under the old management. Formaggio is open evenings only, and doesn't take reservations. Information: 739-7719.
