Stolen PTA tickets reported

Approximately $3,000 of Zippy's chili fund-raiser tickets were stolen from a car parked in the lot in front of the Price Busters store on Salt Lake Boulevard about 2:40 p.m. yesterday.The tickets were part of an effort to raise funds to buy prizes for the annual end of the school year party at Shafter Elementary School, school officials and fund-raising volunteers said.
Today is the last day students will be selling the tickets and potential ticket purchasers should be leery of anyone trying to sell a ticket after today.
The tickets are white and yellow, have a picture of chili on the face and have the words "Shafter Elementary PTA" on them.
Couple arrested in stolen car
Police arrested an 18-year-old woman and 43-year-old man in Wahiawa early this morning after they noticed the car carrying the two had expired tags.
After checking on the license plates, officers learned a 38-year-old woman reported the car had been stolen from her.
The man and woman who were in the car when it was stopped this morning at about 12:40 a.m. were arrested for suspicion of unauthorized control of a propelled vehicle.
Beating suspect lands in jail
Police yesterday arrested a 23-year-old 'Aiea man suspected of beating a 24-year-old man from 'Aiea on two occasions.
Police said the victim is acquainted with the suspect and was arguing with him Jan. 29 when the first beating took place. The victim told police the same man broke into his house yesterday and assaulted him a second time. The victim called police yesterday and used his car to follow the suspect who drove away in his own car.
Police eventually caught up with the suspect and arrested him for suspicion of second-degree assault and first-degree burglary.
Daughter's threat cited in elder abuse complaint
Police yesterday arrested a 52-year-old Hawaii Kai woman who allegedly threatened to kill her 80-year-old mother on several occasions.
Police were notified and went to a home on Kawaihae Street where they arrested the woman for suspicion of abusing a household member and first-degree terroristic threatening.
Blunt objects used in assault
Police arrested one man and are looking for a second in connection with the beating of a 32-year-old man in Kailua yesterday.
The victim got into an argument with the two men about 2:35 p.m. and it escalated into a fight during which the two men hit and injured the victim with blunt objects, police said.
Second-degree assault charges are pending against a 42-year-old man while police continue to search for the second suspect.
Road rage alleged
A 41-year-old man was arrested yesterday for suspicion of first-degree criminal property damage following a traffic incident in Kailua.
Police said the man was upset at a 24-year-old woman who was involved in a traffic accident with him. The woman was seated behind the wheel of her car when the man hit her rolled-up door window, causing it to shatter.
The woman was slightly injured and the suspect left before police arrived but called them later and arranged to turn himself in.
The suspect was booked and then released pending further investigation.
Boyfriend threatens woman with screwdriver
A 21-year-old Honolulu man was arrested yesterday for allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend Feb. 21 with a screwdriver.
Police said the man also punched his 20-year-old, live-in girlfriend in the head the same day, but took off before patrol officers arrived at the home.
The police officers who handled the case initially returned to the home yesterday where they found and arrested the boyfriend for suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and abuse of a family member.
Waikiki attack leads to arrest
A 35-year-old man was arrested yesterday for allegedly beating a 35-year-old man with a wooden stick in Waikiki early yesterday morning.
Police respond to a report of two men fighting about 1:45 a.m. and found the two men struggling. The two were separated and both refused medical treatment, police said.
The younger man was arrested for suspicion of second-degree assault and was later released without charges pending further investigation.
