ISLAND LIFE SHORTS
Winter-chilled Mainlanders ponder 'Paradise, USA'

Advertiser Staff and News Services

The spotlight's on Hawai'i in the March issue of Outside magazine, where more than 15 pages are devoted to the Islands' best — from Kaua'i's Na Pali Coast to the Big Island's Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park, and everything in between.

"No one denies that our 50th state is Paradise, USA," the magazine reads.

The North Shore on O'ahu and Haleakala on Maui make the cut, as do the adventures on Lana'i and the unspoiled splendor — and Hawaiian hospitality — of Moloka'i. Featured spots include top resorts, restaurants and outdoor activities.

Little Feat plays tonight at the Pipeline Café

The jam band pioneers and blues boogie improvisationalists of Little Feat return to Honolulu tonight for a 7:30 p.m. show at the Pipeline Café. Expect the usual eclecticism — folk to rockabilly, blues to country — and classics like "Fat Man in the Bathtub." And, if you're good to 'em, maybe even a cover of Phish's "Sample In A Jar."

Tickets are $30 advance, $35 at the door and $50 VIP. Ticket information at 896-4845.

Little Feat also plays Friday on Maui, Saturday in Hilo and Sunday on Kaua'i.

FINAL WORD
