Man arrested after wife alleges abuse

A 29-year-old Kalihi man was arrested Tuesday after his wife told police he had beaten and threatened her continuously since Sunday.

The woman told police the husband constantly yelled at her and demanded that she submit to his demands and that he poked her with a screwdriver and scratched her with a knife if he believed she was responding too slowly.

A neighbor reported the incident, police said.
