Kop, Gomi victorious at 4-ball tournament

Brandan Kop and Clayton Gomi won the Makalena 4-Ball Championship on Sunday at the Ted Makalena Golf Course.
Kop and Gomi beat the team of Sam Rodrigues and Joe Sakauye by one stroke.
The winning duo combined for a 36-hole score of 10-under 132 at the par-71 course.
The Ko Olina Golf Club will host its annual spring fund-raising tournament March 19 with proceeds going to the University of Hawai'i men's and women's golf teams.
The tournament will be a modified four-person scramble with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. Entry fee is $90 per player with the field limited to the first 80 entries. Entry deadline is March 10. For more information, call 676-5300.
Prior to the tournament, there will be a demo day starting at 9 in the morning with representatives from various golf manufacturers showing the latest equipment.
The second Turtle Bay 808Golf TV show will air Sunday at 9:30 p.m. on OC16.
The show will feature Dorothy Delasin, who represents Turtle Bay on the LPGA tour.
It will also highlight the Hawai'i players in this year's Turtle Bay Championship and the 27th annual Hawai'i Pearl Open.
Pearl's Howard Hamada will be on the "Superintendent's Corner" segment.
The show will also start a new feature called "Playing A-Round." The first subject will be the Rev. Ron Valenciana, who officiated Arnold Palmer's marriage at Turtle Bay in January.
Repeat telecasts will be on OC16 until March 28. Dave Vinton and Amber Parkes host.
Ma'ema'e Elementary School will have two fund-raising tournaments at New 'Ewa Golf Course on March 24 as part of its PTSA's Swing Fore Science. Adults can play in a modified scramble at noon. Juniors are invited to a special golf event in the morning.
Kids 13 and under will compete in different age brackets, beginning at 6:30 a.m. There is no entry fee, but some golf experience is required. O'ahu Junior Golf Association will assist and kids will get food and prizes.
The adult event costs $125 per player, with three-player teams. Entry deadline is March 11.
The school is attempting to raise $30,000 to purchase a school-wide science program.

The registration deadline for the Honolulu Theatre for Youth's ninth annual Golf for Youth tournament is March 14.
The tournament, which raises funds for HTY's children and family theater programs, will be held April 4 at the Waikele Golf Club. Golfers of all skill levels are welcome.
Registration is $150 per person or $750 for a team of four with a sponsored hole. Lunch and a dinner buffet are included.

Na Koa: The annual Na Koa/Ed Wong Memorial Tournament, benefitting University of Hawai'i football, will be April 19 at Hawai'i Prince Golf Club. Format is modified three-player scramble with an 11:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration deadline is April 5. For the first time, the Ed Wong Foundation will sponsor the tournament.
