Police yesterday located a stolen car in Waipahu and arrested the woman they found driving it after police dispatchers got a call from the General Motors OnStar car locator and theft recovery service telling them where the car could be found.

Patrol officers were sent to the site and recovered a car reported stolen on Feb. 4. They arrested the driver, 31, for operating a stolen vehicle. Police said the woman may also be charged with a drug offense since a packet of what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine was found on the floor of the car near her feet.

The woman told police she went looking for her boyfriend following an argument. The woman could not find the boyfriend and was walking home when she was confronted by a stranger about 3:25 a.m. who pushed her to the ground and sexually assaulted her.

The assailant ran away after the incident and the victim was taken to the Sex Abuse Treatment Center.
