Home and Garden Workshops, Home Depot's how-to clinics for March: You Can Have Fun with Color and Faux, 7 p.m. Fridays; You Can Measure and Install Window Treatments, 10 a.m. Saturdays; You Can Prep and Paint Your Home Interior, 2 p.m. Saturdays; You Can Use a Finish Nailer, 2 p.m. Sundays; You Can Install Laminate Flooring, 7 p.m. Tuesdays; You Can Lay Ceramic Tile, 7 p.m. Thursdays; all workshops are free at Home Depot stores: Iwilei, Honolulu, 521-7355; Pearl City, 455-1200; Kahului, Maui, (808) 893-7800; Kona, Big Island, (808) 326-6013; and Lihu'e, Kaua'i (808) 632-2740.

Kids' Workshop, make a miniature plastic racing car, 9 a.m.-noon Saturday, at all Home Depot stores listed above; free, for children ages 4 to 12.

GARDEN EVENTS

Garden Tour, guided tours offered at 1 p.m. beginning Saturday and continuing Mondays through Saturdays, Foster Botanical Gardens; free with paid admission of $5 general, $3 kama'aina, $1 children 6-12 years. 522-7066.

Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden guided tours focusing on canoe plants (plants brought to the Islands during Polynesian migration), 1 p.m. Wednesdays; also, tour highlighting Native Hawaiian medicinal plants, 1 p.m. Fridays, Amy Greenwell Ethnobotanical Garden, Mamalahoa Highway, Kona, Big Island; $5.
