WENDELL JUNG, director of loss prevention for the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, has been awarded the Loss Prevention Director of the Year Award for the Hawai'i region by Marriott International. The award is given to the regional loss-prevention/security director who, among other recognized qualities, demonstrates exemplary technological and business leadership. Jung began his career at the Maui Marriott Resort in 1988, and had served as director of loss prevention at two other Marriott properties before joining the Waikiki Marriott in 2001. Jung also received an honorable mention in this year's Hawai'i Hotel and Lodging Association's annual Na Po'e Pa'ahana (The Hard Working People) recognition program.

• CHI MOK, loss-prevention supervisor for the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort and Spa, has been awarded the Hawaii Hotel and Lodging Association's annual Na Po'e Pa'ahana (The Hard Working People) Award, for "Security Officer of the Year." He is already the recipient of three "Marriott Spirit to Serve Our Communities" awards and has been selected as a past hotel Associate of the Month.

• DAVID CHUN, who began his automotive career with Honolulu Ford in 1965 as an administrative assistant and became president in 1989, has been honored with the 2005 Time Magazine Quality Dealer Award. Chun is one of only 65 automobile dealers, from more than 19,500 nationwide, nominated for longstanding commitment to effective community service, and vying for the 36th annual award. The award is sponsored by the magazine, in association with Goodyear and in cooperation with the National Automobile Dealers Association.
