Chef James McDonald (seen here in a publicity illustration) owns a Maui farm you can tour.

Chef McDonald has a farm — and he'd like to share it with you. James McDonald and his partners in Pacific 'O and I'o restaurants on Maui bought an 8-acre Kula property a couple of years ago, planted it with vegetables, herbs, and fruits for their restaurants, and now are ready to show it off.

Tours of O'o Farm can be arranged for groups of 10 or more from 10:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The $25 tour includes hot cider, pastries and a tasting sampler you pick yourself. The $50 tour includes a lunch made from produce you pick. Call: (808) 667-4341.

Sunny-side up and fried shrimp

Dixie Grill's Ward Avenue location is launching a Week-ender Brunch, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. (It will no longer serve weekend early breakfasts).

There will be the restaurant's signature country fried steak and eggs, blueberry double-stuffed french toast and such. But also barbecue meatloaf, fried shrimp, fried catfish and skillet barbecue shrimp. Information: 596-8359.

Tiki's benefit; new Mililani market

Tiki's Grill & Bar is donating a portion of its proceeds today to the Hawaii Red Cross. And throughout March, PBS Hawaii members can get a buy one, get one free deal at Tiki's if they show their membership card.

A new farmers' market opens in Mililani 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday in the Mililani High School parking lot with more than two dozen vendors, with items ranging from butter cookies to vegetables, baba ganoush to fresh fruit.

The Saturday market at Kapi'olani Community College is now open 7:30 to 11 a.m. (instead of noon).

A weekly Aloha Friday Farmers Market will open April 1 at the Hannibal Tavares Community Center in Pukalani, Maui. For information, call Darlis Smith, (808) 268-3276.
