Volunteers to hand out food starting Tuesday

The Honolulu Community Action Program Inc. and their volunteers will be distributing rice, orange juice, peanut butter, pudding, beef stew, sweet potato and pears to eligible recipients next Tuesday through Friday. The hours of distribution will be 8 a.m. to noon or until the commodities run out.

Distribution will be at the following locations:

• Tuesday, Leahi District (phone 732-7755): Makiki District Park, 'Aina Haina Playground, Jarrett Middle School, Mo'ili'ili Community Center, Waikiki Community Center, Papakolea Recreation Center, Kapahulu Japanese School and Mother Waldron Park (Cooke and Halekauwila Streets).

• Wednesday, Central District (phone 488-6834): Old Hale'iwa Gym, Wahiawa Recreation Center, Waipahu Recreation Center, Makalapa Community Center, 'Ewa Beach Calvary Chapel.

• Thursday, Kalihi District (847-0804): Kamehameha Homes, Kuhio Park Terrace Building B, Lanakila Multi-Purpose Senior Center, Safeway Market-Pali, Palama Settlement.

• Friday, Wai'anae District (phone 696-4261): HCAP Wai'anae Office, Camp Andrews, Kapolei Shopping Center ('ewa end of McDonald's).

Windward District (239-5754): Kailua District Park, St. George Catholic Church Waimanalo, Kane'ohe District Park, Hau'ula Beach Pavilion, Swanzy Beach Park, HCAP Kahalu'u District Office, Kahuku Hospital (next to heli-pad), Sunset Beach Neighborhood Park, BYU-La'ie (social work building courtyard).

Eligible recipients must be certified at the distribution site.
