Outrigger Hotels & Resorts has expanded to Southeast Asia with a new management contract for a resort in Bali.
Outrigger officials yesterday announced an agreement with Indonesian developer PT Ocean Permata to manage a luxury 98-suite beachfront resort under construction on 2.5 acres at Legian Beach in Kuta, Bali.
The $35 million resort, to be called Outrigger Bali, includes studio and one- to three-bedroom suites and will open in late 2006.
"Bali is a natural extension for Outrigger Hotels & Resorts' ongoing strategic initiative to become a major presence in resort destinations throughout the region," said Bill Henderson, Outrigger's vice president of business development. "When completed, this new beachfront resort in Bali will be highly complementary to our existing inventory in Hawai'i and elsewhere in the Pacific."
He said this development in Bali will spur future growth for Outrigger in other Southeast Asia resort destinations.
Outrigger currently manages more than 50 properties with more than 12,000 rooms in Hawai'i, Australia, Micronesia, Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand.
