Symphony Ball will salute Samuel Wong

Maestro Samuel Wong will be the focus of the Honolulu Symphony Ball, set for May 14 at the Kalakaua Ballroom of the Hawai'i Convention Center.
Advertiser library photo 2004 Dr. Thomas Kosasa and Mrs. Mi Kosasa are chairing the event, which includes a dinner, a live and silent auction, and a musical program conducted by Wong. Dance music by Nueva Vida, featuring singer Anita Hall, will be part of the evening.

"Aloha 'Oe ... Until We Meet Again, a Salute to Samuel Wong" is the theme for the eighth annual black-tie event, honoring Wong, who has been conductor and music director of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra for nine seasons. He leaves the orchestra after the 2004-2005 season.
Conductor Samuel Wong is leaving the Honolulu Sympho-ny at the end of this season. A May 14 event honors him.
