TOM RIETOW, a veteran of the local building industry, has joined Hardware Hawaii as lumber division vice president. He was most recently chief executive officer of construction materials firm Hale Kaua'i Ltd., and has been in management at Honolulu Roofing and Lewers & Cooke, vice president for Honsador Lumber, and director of construction at the Lana'i Co. Rietow has also served as director and governor of the Hawai'i Employers' Council. Hardware Hawaii maintains three O'ahu locations, and a lumber distribution center near Kapa'a Quarry.
SCOTT BRADLEY, managing director at Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties, has been named regional vice president of the National Association of Realtors. He will represent Hawai'i, California and Guam (Region 13) in the 1 million-member national association, the largest trade association in the United States. Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has more than 500 sales associates and support staff in five offices.
Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties has promoted LINDA S. KOMATSU-WONG, to vice president of business development. Among her new duties will be overseeing the seven-day-a-week Centralized Call Center that assists customers with property inquiries, and the Concierge Program, which links clients with approved service providers.
STERLING YEE has been elected to the board of trustees of La Pietra, the college preparatory school for girls. Yee has been auditor for Hawaiian Electric Industries for 15 years and before that in information technology consulting and management with Ernst & Young and Grant Thornton. Yee is also a board member and past president of Hale Kipa and board member and chairman-elect of the American Lung Association of Hawai'i. He is a parent of a La Pietra junior.
MELVIN MOW, a senior vice president, has been promoted to deputy manager of the credit administration division at First Hawaiian Bank. He has also held branch leadership assignments on Guam, at the Main Banking Center, and as manager of the Kapi'olani Banking Center.
ELENI ESPANIA has been named director of reservation sales at JW Marriott Ihilani Resort and Spa, overseeing the reservations department and revenue management for the resort. She was most recently sales manager for Marriott International's Hawaiian Island Hotels & Resorts' cluster sales office.
NAPOLEON ARLINE III, who served in the USS Missouri's battle group during Operation Desert Storm, has been named volunteer programs manager for the famed ship's nonprofit caretaker, the USS Missouri Memorial Association Inc. Arline has also served as volunteer coordinator/internship manager and training developer at 'Olelo Public Television. He assisted in the 2003 making of the filmed oral history project, "Mighty MOments," preserving interviews with about 100 former Missouri crew members.
