Kapolei goes 2-0 in girls basketball

Becka Simanu scored 11 of her 13 points in the second half, and Kayla Kam finished with 11 points, helping Kapolei turn back Pearl City, 41-35, last night in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Division I game.

The Hurricanes led 24-13 at halftime and took a 32-20 lead into the final quarter.

Case Miyahira homered in the sixth inning for the Raiders, who beat the Wolfpack in the league opener for both teams.

B.J. Takushi picked up the win for Iolani. Marc Factora went 2 for 4 with a double.

The game was the nightcap of a doubleheader at Aloha Stadium last night. No other details were reported in time for this edition of The Advertiser.
