Two-car crash leaves two people critical

Two people were critically injured yesterday in a head-on collision on Fort Barrette Road in Kapolei.
Andrew Shimabuku The Honolulu Advertiser A 26-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, drivers of the Camry and Sentra, respectively, were taken to The Queen's Medical Center with critical injuries, said Reed. A boy, 13, who was a passenger in the Sentra, was also taken to Queen's with what appeared to be less serious injuries.
The impact forced the Sentra off the roadway and down an embankment.
Police vehicular homicide investigator Lisa Reed said a 1983 Toyota Camry, traveling makai on Fort Barrette Road, crossed the center line and into the path of a Nissan Sentra at 4:40 p.m.
Police closed Fort Barrette Road between Farrington Highway and Kama'aha Avenue for three hours following a two-vehicle crash.
