ABA meeting to be held here

The American Bar Association will hold its annual meeting in Honolulu next year.

The Aug. 3-9, 2006, meeting is expected to draw 10,000 to 15,000 delegates.

The convention headquarters will be at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa, with events held at the Hawai'i Convention Center.



Help offered to local businesses

The Business Action Center, the state's one-stop source for business registration, licensing and tax applications, is teaming up with the U.S. Small Business Administration to help local businesses.

An SBA businesses development specialist will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on alternating Mondays and Wednesdays at the Business Action Center's Nimitz Highway office to provide information on Small Business Administration programs and services.

The specialist will be there tomorrow and April 4, 13, 18 and 27, continuing indefinitely.
