New restaurant opening at Kapalua; New Otani refreshes bar, menu

The Pineapple Grill is a new restaurant opening at the Kapalua Resort May 14 on a site beside the Bay Course Clubhouse on Kapalua Drive. The restaurant is a collaboration between the Cohn Restaurant Group of San Diego and local restaurant veteran Chris Kaiwi, formerly of Plantation House, TS Restaurants' Bar & Grill at Kapalua and the Chart House. The menu will have a Pacific-island theme, and the decor will be "tropical elegant," according to a press release.

The New Otani Kaimana Beach Hotel has refurbished and reopened its Sunset Lanai Bar, revamped the appetizer menu and added some new items to the Hau Tree Lanai menu, as well.
