Meeting set to discuss Philippines tour plans

An informational gathering to launch plans for a Philippines tour with the country's diplomatic leaders is set for 6 p.m. April 1 at the Philippine Consulate, 2433 Pali Highway.

The meeting is sponsored by the consulate, in conjunction with the Philippines Department of Tourism and Filipino Travel Agents of Hawai'i.

The Ambassador's/Consuls General Tour to the Philippines, set for July 13-19, is a joint project of Philippine Foreign Posts in Agana, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, Saipan, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., as well as Honolulu.

Albert F. Del Rosario, Philippine ambassador to the United States, will lead the tour along with all the Philippine consuls general in the United States. The group will visit select tourist attractions and business centers; participants will have an opportunity to meet President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Door prizes, including airline tickets, will be awarded in a drawing among participants in the launch.
