Advertiser Staff

Kahoku Piho struck out 18 batters, including a run of 14 in a row, as 'Aiea defeated Waipahu, 9-0, yesterday in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Western Division game at Waipahu.

Piho, a senior, allowed one hit — a double by Jaris Komuro-Rosete — in his seven-inning gem.

"That was lights out," 'Aiea coach Ryan Kato said. "He just dominated. I don't know what else to say. I was gonna take him out of the game, but if I did he would have punched me out and said 'no.' "
