Hawai'i Pacific sweeps in baseball

Ikena DuPont pitched a four-hitter and Alika Kuraoka homered as Hawai'i Pacific beat Alderson-Broaddus, 13-0, yesterday to complete a baseball doubleheader sweep at Aloha Stadium.

Brandon Sato batted 4 for 4 as the Sea Warriors beat the visitors from Philippi, W. Va., 10-2, in the opener.

HPU is 18-8, Alderson-Broaddus 1-19.

Rainbows rained out

The non-conference baseball game between Hawai'i and Pacific yesterday at Stockton, Calif., was postponed because of rain.

It has been rescheduled for today (noon Hawai'i time).



MARTIAL ARTS

'Brawl' at Blaisdell

The venue has been changed for "Super Brawl XXXIX," a mixed martial arts event on April 9.

The card will be staged at the Blaisdell Arena, and not the Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawai'i's Falaniko Vitale will face Japan's Masanori Suda for the 185-pound Super Brawl championship in the main event.

Tickets go on sale today at the Blaisdell Center box office.



SOFTBALL

HPU takes two

Clerisse Lemke pitched four innings of two-hit scoreless relief as host Hawai'i Pacific beat Western New Mexico, 4-3, yesterday to complete a sweep.

Nicole Kalakau homered as HPU won the opener, 6-2.

HPU is 20-8 overall, 5-3 in the PacWest. Western New Mexico is 15-9, 1-2.

Chaminade drops two

Sara Mason had three hits and Kathleen Bonja drove in two runs as San Diego defeated Chaminade, 6-2, yesterday to finish off a sweep at Central O'ahu Regional Park.

The Toreros won the opener, 6-2.
