Police Beat: Sexual assault reported

Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a 38-year-old woman in Manoa late yesterday afternoon.

The victim told police she was sitting in her car when a man in his 20s approached, pulled out a knife and got into her car.

She said the man forced her to drive to a secluded area where he sexually assaulted her. She said he then ordered her to drive to a nearby bank and withdraw money.

The victim said that after she gave the money to her assailant, he ran away.



Woman faces $100,000 bail

Bail has been set at $100,000 for a 36-year-old Waimanalo woman who was charged with multiple offenses yesterday for allegedly using fraudulent identification cards while cashing two checks at a check-cashing service company, one in September and the other in January.

Police charged Shanmarie Achay of a Kalaniana'ole Highway address with two counts of first-degree forgery, three counts of second-degree forgery and one count of second-degree theft for allegedly using fake identification to cash a state of Hawaii check in September and trying to cash a U.S. Treasury check in January.
