Advertiser Staff

Michelle Wie shot a 2-under-par 70 today and is among the early leaders in Kraft Nabisco Championship, the LPGA's first major tournament.

Wie, 15, a Punahou School sophomore, had three birdies and a bogey on the Dinah Shore Tournament Course at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

Annika Sorenstam is 3-under after five holes and is going for a record-tying fifth straight LPGA victory.

Wie is tied for third with more than half the select field of 98 players yet to complete their rounds.

Wie birdied both par-5s on the front nine, sinking putts from eight feet on hole No. 2 and from three feet on No. 9.

She sank a four-foot putt for birdie on No. 10, but missed a five-footer for par on No. 17 for her only bogey.

Wie missed birdie putts inside five feet on holes No. 5 and 11.
