Marine ed workshops for teachers

Teachers interested in learning how to integrate marine education into the classroom can participate in the Marine Protected Areas Teachers' Workshop on April 16.
The workshop includes a boat ride to Coconut Island, and presentations at He'eia State Park and Windward Community College.
Marine biology experts and educators from the state Department of Land and Natural Resources, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Hawai'i Institute of Marine Biology, He'eia State Park and Windward Community College will conduct the activities and provide teachers with a supplemental curriculum.
The cost is $10 and includes lunch. The registration deadline is April 12. The workshop will be limited to the first 40 teachers.
