EDUCATION BRIEFS
Immunized kids to be rewarded

Advertiser Staff

Sixth-graders need up-to-date shot records before starting the seventh grade or they will not be able to attend school.

Students who submit their seventh-grade immunization cards by May 5 will receive surf stickers from Hawaiian Island Creations, and sixth-grade classes in which all students return their immunization records will receive free sandwiches from Subway restaurants.

Hawai'i law requires all students entering seventh grade to have the following vaccinations:

• Three Hepatitis B,

• Two measles, mumps and rubella,

• One or two varicella (chickenpox).

For more information on Hawai'i's school immunization requirements, visit www.vaxtoschool.com or call the Hawai'i Immunization Branch at 586-8323. Calls from the Neighbor Islands are toll-free at (800) 933-4832.
