Events in Hawai'i. Send submissions to totalrec@HonoluluAdvertiser.com Children 7 and older will be able to swim and run in the fourth annual Lavaman Youth Duathlon, part of the Lavaman Triathlon Festival, April 2 and 3, at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort.
Children 7 to 9 will compete in a 100-yard swim and quarter-mile run; 10- to 12-year-olds will swim 200 yards and run a half-mile; and teenagers 13 and older have a 500-yard swim and 1-mile run. A 200-yard beach run also will be held for ages 6 and under. All races are April 2.
Triathlete Lokelani McMi-chael and Olympic gold medalist Simon Whitfield will conduct a motivational sports clinic at 8:30 a.m.

Keiki can ride along
An Easter Keiki Ride Along will be held as part of the race program at Hawai'i Motor Speedway tomorrow.
Races in seven classes will be held. At halftime, children will get to go into the race cars and be driven slowly around the track.

Workshop scheduled
A tennis workshop featuring Vic Braden, Phil Dent and Geoff Norton will be held April 16 and 17 at Ala Moana's McCoy Pavilion.
The workshop includes on-court clinics, handbooks and lunch. It is open to coaches, players and tennis enthusiasts.
Braden is a sports science researcher, licensed psychologist and founder of Vic Braden Tennis Colleges.
Registration before April 1 is $100 for both days, or $60 for Saturday or Sunday. Fees go up to $115 and $65 after April 1. For information, call 955-6696.
