SIH-YOUNG JEON has been named senior associate and shareholder at Wimberly Allison Tong & Goo, Architects, Designers, Planners and Consultants. Jeon joined the Honolulu office in 1996, and has been instrumental in securing and managing projects in South Korea and China. His projects have included the Daewoo World Financial Center in South Korea, and the InterContinental Moon Valley Resort Hotel & Art Center. Also, CRAIG TAKAHATA has been named senior designer and associate in the firm. Takahata is additionally the coordinator for the Wimberly Scholarship Program with the University of Hawai'i. Since its founding in 1945, the firm has completed projects in more than 130 countries throughout Hawai'i, Asia, the U.S. Mainland, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

• ROBERT "BOB" THAIN has been named operations manager for Atlantis Adventures on O'ahu. Thain, who will be responsible for both operations and guest services departments for Atlantis Submarines, has worked variously as co-pilot, pilot and senior pilot for the company. He previously ran a Honolulu scuba-diving retail shop. Atlantis owns and operates Atlantis Submarines in 10 locations worldwide, including Kona, Maui and Waikiki.

• AL FINK has been named vice president and director of business development at Charles Pankow Builders Ltd. A veteran of extensive local construction and real-estate development, Fink has worked on such landmark projects as the University of Hawai'i's Stan Sheriff Center and has served in the startup of Mid-State Precast, the Mainland precast division of the Pankow Cos. The general contracting firm, based in Los Angeles, also has offices in San Francisco and Oakland, Calif.

• RON ADAMS has been hired as senior director of sales and marketing for the Hawai'i Convention Center. In addition to sales and marketing duties, Adams will serve as the center's liaison with the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, also helping ensure the center's efforts dovetail with HTA's strategic marking plan. For more than 30 years, Adams has held positions as senior executive or consultant throughout Asia and Hawai'i in operations and marketing. He has worked with hotels, airlines, and conventions and meetings organizers, including for the Sheraton Corp. (Hong Kong) and Continental Airlines.

• CHESTER E. KANESHIRO has been named president and chief operating officer of Tanaka of Tokyo Restaurants Ltd. He has been with the company for 28 years.

• DEBBIE NEEDHAM has been named to fill a new position with the Activities & Attractions Association of Hawai'i (A3H) which would give specific O'ahu presence to the statewide tourism promotion, lobbying and marketing organization. Needham, a 17-year veteran of Island tourism, most recently handled marketing activities for Maui Classic Charters.
