Advertiser Staff

When you put your children to bed, don't ask them how their day was, suggests Karen Levine, author of "Keeping Life Simple: 380 Tips & Ideas." Instead, ask them what the best part of their day was.

Other simple suggestions for busy parents on spending quality time with their kids:

• Spend an evening playing Scrabble, Monopoly, chess, checkers or parcheesi.

• Grow a sunflower with your child.

• Roast marshmallows over a candle.
