Advertiser Staff

Two men, ages 27 and 22 and a 22-year-old woman were arrested yesterday in connection with two car break-ins late Sunday night on Ala Wai Boulevard.

Police said a witness video-taped one of the men breaking into a car about 11:55 p.m. and contacted police. The witness told police that the man got into a white sedan that drove off. Police stopped the car at the corner of McCully Street and Kapiolani Boulevard and the witness identified one of the two men in the car as the one who had broken into the cars on Ala Wai Boulevard.

During their check of the car that was pulled over, police reported finding a semi-automatic handgun next to the driver's door and what appeared to be crystal methamphetamine in a fanny pack located in a front passenger compartment.

The two men and woman who were in the car were arrested on suspicion of breaking into the cars, failure to properly store a firearm and second- and third-degree promotion of dangerous drugs.
