Police Beat: Body found near Sand Island

Police homicide investigators were sent to Sand Island State Park this morning after a body was found floating in ocean waters along the park's shores.

Police received a call regarding the the body about 6:40 a.m.

The body had not been brought to shore as of 7:40 a.m. and the victim's gender had not yet been determined.

Neighbors' altercation ends in arrest

A 24-year-old Nanakuli man was arrested yesterday after he allegedly used his car to deliberately hit a 41-year-old man.

Police said the two men, who are neighbors, had been arguing when the younger man used his car to ram the older man about 4:30 p.m.

Police arrested the younger neighbor on suspicion of second-degree assault.

Sexual assault reported

An 18-year-old woman told police she was sexually assaulted about 10 p.m. Monday night in Manoa after a group of men forced her into a parked vehicle.

The women said she was driven to a secluded area and sexually assaulted.

She said the men left the area after the attack.

The victim was taken to the Sex Abuse Treatment Center and police are looking for five men who the victim said appeared to be in their 20s.

Road rage alleged

Police arrested a 35-year-old Pearl City man yesterday morning following a road rage incident in downtown Honolulu.

A 66-year-old man told police the younger man was tailgating him and that he exchanged words with him when the two stopped for a red light near South King Street and Kapiolani Boulevard.

The older man told police that the younger man got out of his car and approached carrying a wooden stick.

The older man said the younger man hit him on the head as he was trying to get out of his car and got back into his own car and drove away.

Police said the victim then followed his assailant to area in Saint Louis Heights, called police and used his car to block the other man's car.

Police officers arrived and arrested the younger man for suspicion of second-degree assault.
