La Pietra plans summer course

La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls will offer an Animation Fascination summer school course this summer for girls entering grades 5 through 8.

The course will teach girls how to use Macromedia Flash software to create animated shorts. They will also learn basic word processing, storyboarding, file management, Internet searching, graphics creation and how to use digital still and video cameras.

The six-week course runs from June 13 to July 22, with classes from 8 to 11 a.m. or 1 to 4 p.m. Tuition is $400.

Afternoon camp sessions from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. are available for girls enrolled in the morning classes.
