Downing's homer lifts Punahou

Kaohi Downing belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift Punahou to a 3-2 victory over Saint Louis in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game last night at Aloha Stadium.

The Buffanblu, ranked No. 15 in USA Today's Super 25 national rankings, improved to 28-2-1 overall and 15-1-1 in league.

Kealii Zablan and Chester Wilson each had a double for Saint Louis.

Nathan Rice went 2 for 4 and had three RBIs, and Conan Young held the Monarchs to one hit over five innings to lead the Owls in a game shortened because of the 10-run rule at Aloha Stadium.
