The ex-girlfriend, 41, told police the man showed up in the parking lot of her home in Kalihi about 11 p.m. and forced her into his car. She said he drove her around for several hours and terrorized her, resulting in minor injuries, before releasing her about 4 the following morning.

The former boyfriend turned himself in yesterday at the Pearl City police station and was arrested on suspicion of kidnapping and abuse of a family or household member.

Domestic argument leads to arrest

A 43-year-old Punchbowl man was arrested yesterday morning following an altercation with his girlfriend at their Victoria Street apartment.

The girlfriend, 33, called 911 during the argument and police arrived to find the couple standing just outside their apartment door.

Police saw the woman had facial injuries and arrested the boyfriend about 6:30 a.m. on suspicion of abuse of a household member. While searching the boyfriend, police found he was carrying a loaded handgun and added another complaint of suspicion of failing to properly store a firearm.

Fake gun reported at school

Police said a 15-year-old student caused a stir at Wai'anae High School yesterday after she took what appeared to be a handgun out of her backpack about 12:45 p.m., pointed it at a classroom blackboard and said she was going to go to the school's front office and "shoot everybody up."

A 24-year-old teacher in the classroom realized the gun was not real but reported the incident to her supervisor, who called police.

The student was arrested on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening and was later released without charges pending further investigation.
